5 Ways To Pamper Yourself While Preggo

I never pass up an opportunity to reward myself for enduring life’s little hardships. Why? Because life is hard. Kindergartners get gold stars just for walking in straight lines but nobody gives adults a single thing for driving through traffic, paying bills on time, dealing with maniac bosses and basically just ADULTING. We deserve ALL the gold stars.

And you know what else is hard? Pregnancy. Everything that happens from the moment a pregnant woman clambers out of bed in the morning until the moment she collapses back onto that bed (no later than 7PM) should be considered a hardship. And if nobody is willing to slap some gold stars on our bellies then dammit we should do it ourselves!

So without further ado, here are 5 ways that I plan to pamper myself while pregnant:

 

1.Belly Rubs

I recently experienced the blissful bump massage at Serenity Spa and LOVED it. It’s the perfect massage for pregnant women and I would highly recommend it to all the preggo mamas out there. I walked out of that spa feeling light and limber, which, given my current form, is nothing short of a miracle. I will certainly be back for more!

 

2. Food, Glorious Food.

Blame it on cravings, hormones, having a hungry fetus and anything else you can think of. You deserve to get your grub on during pregnancy. I fully intend to test indulgent recipes (Miss Mandi and Kaluhi are bookmarked for reference), hit up trendy restaurants (your suggestions are more than welcome) and eat dessert for breakfast anytime I please (cheesecake anyone?). Hey, it’s the least I can do for my body after making it give up wine.

 

3. Pretty Purchases

Just because you feel like a pregnant pig doesn’t mean you should look like one too. You are so much more than a (rotund) baby factory! Allow yourself to splurge on make-up, jewelry, handbags and just about everything else that makes you feel pretty while you’re forced to dress in oversized muumuus.

 

4. Pedicures

Very soon you won’t be able to see your feet let alone reach them. Putting nail polish on your own toes will be literally impossible. So why not take this opportunity to indulge in all the lavish pedicures that your heart desires? I am determined to have my feet looking gorgeous during this pregnancy (to those who can still see them).

 

5. ME Time

Be selfish with your ME time while pregnant. Newborns are demanding, irrational little creatures. Five years ago, I experienced the soul crushing sadness of losing myself completely to motherhood during those first few months postpartum. I feel better prepared this time around and know that I need to hyperfocus on me NOW so that I have enough of myself to give in 5 months time.

 

So go on out there and spoil yourself mama! You deserve it.

    This was me last year before November. Except the spa. I wish I’d known about that. (I’m sure they have options for mothers of infants though)
